Niverville Nighthawks fans were getting revved up this weekend for the 2026/27 season.
The Nighthawks played their home opener against the Monarchs on Friday, September 18. On Saturday night, the team stepped out of uniform to rub shoulders with their fans at the Nighthawks kickoff social.
Kickoff social
The Nighthawks kickoff social took place under a tent at the outdoor rink next to the Centennial arena.
Fans, parents, billet parents and Nighthawks volunteers gathered there for a night of country music, dancing, draws and Nighthawks branded beer.
One by one, the Nighthawks team were called to the stage, giving everyone an opportunity to meet the faces behind the helmets.
While some players are new to the Nighthawks’ lineup, others are returning, like Niverville’s own Max Dowse.
On display were the Nighthawks’ crowning glory: the Turnbull and Centennial Cups.
